A Cherry Log Christmas Carol

Cherrylog christmas

On Sunday, Dec. 17, 5-6:30 p.m., Oakhurst Presbyterian Church invites the community to “A Cherry Log Christmas Carol.” This full-length theatrical performance sets Charles Dickens’s classic tale of redemption in the Georgia mountains for a distinctively Appalachian flair. This one-man play features artist, musician, teacher, and actor Clark Taylor who performs all the characters in this familiar but original interpretation of A Christmas Carol.

Admission is free. Bring your neighbors and friends. A love offering will be accepted to benefit the church’s Youth Program, and refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome. The church is located at 118 2nd Ave. If you have questions, email info@oakhurstpresbyterian.org.  (Event link: https://oakhurstpcusa.org/2017/11/27/a-cherry-log-christmas-carol-december-17/)

Baby, it’s not that cold outside. Drop by Doggy Dogg for a hand-crafted hot dog that’ll warm you up! And we do mean hand-crafted. This is not your typical hot dog stand. Enjoy top-quality beef franks with locally baked buns and house-made sauces, mustards and relly, even kimchi, kraut, and pimento cheese — all grilled, toasted, and topped just for you. Bask in their killer playlist while you wait for your dog. Then sit by their fire pit and sip a craft beer or a local soda (they’ve got a take-a-koozie-leave-a-koozie policy). Alternative eaters note — Doggy Dogg also offers “meat of the future” substitutions and gluten-free buns. Need a gift for someone that seems to have everything? I bet they haven’t got a GIFT CARD to a local indie hot dog stand!
