Lane closures are expected on West Ponce de Leon Avenue between Ponce de Leon Place and Fairview Avenue beginning 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, to accommodate DeKalb County Watershed crews working to repair a leaking water line. Motorists and MARTA passengers should expect delays.

How to manage

Signs and detour routes will be posted to assist motorists in moving safely around the lane closure. Construction crews will work diligently to minimize the length of impact to residents and motorists.

Due to an extreme risk, be advised of a road closure on West Parkwood Road from Ponce de Leon Avenue to Parkwood Center. There’s a leaning Oak tree with a compromised root system that has a split on the backside of it. Georgia Power has been contacted and we anticipate the tree being removed as soon as possible.

A message from DeKalb County’s Department of Watershed Management –

A temporary road closure to facilitate Sanitary Sewer System improvements on Superior Avenue is expected to begin on Monday, November 30th and weather permitting, will last approximately three (3) weeks.

Be advised that Superior Avenue between Scott Boulevard and Willow Lane will be closed to thru traffic. Access will also be limited to local traffic from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The County is alerting residents that detours will be in effect, and heavy equipment and construction noise may be noticeable. However, County crews will work diligently to minimize the duration of the construction period and road closure. Patience is appreciated while the improvements are made.

CSX is expected to begin maintenance on the Candler Street, McDonough Street and Atlanta Avenue railroad crossings next week (week of January 12th) for railroad tie maintenance. Each intersection will be closed for 2-3 days.
