ATL Symphony and ASC

Please join Agnes Scott College for an afternoon of music featuring the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and guest artists on Sunday, Mar. 8 at 4 p.m. in Presser Hall. This performance, part of the ASO’s Musicians in Communities program, celebrates “Mother of the Civil Rights Movement” Rosa Parks as part of International Women’s Day. Decatur Trees for Post.png

Come speak with local arborists, landscapers and tree care services in celebration of Arbor Day on Saturday Feb. 22 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.! The first 200 city residents to join us on the Square will receive an official Bicentennial Red Maple, Red Cedar, Dogwood or Persimmon tree with certificate as part of our project to plant 1000 trees by 2020 for Decatur’s bicentennial celebration.

City Fiber

Network Cabling Infrastructures, LLC will be at the intersection of Clairemont Avenue and Scott Boulevard tomorrow, February 15 between the hours of 9 a.m. and Noon to install infrastructure for the city’s fiber network. This will require the closing of the southbound turning lane and left travel lane. Please note that vehicular access will be maintained but delays should be expected. Scott Blvd EDIT

The Scott Boulevard Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB) at Westchester Elementary School will be fully operational beginning February 18. This signalized crosswalk will serve as a Safe Route to School route for elementary students so please proceed with caution.

Monitoring Talley Intersection

The City is currently monitoring the now fully operational South Columbia/Talley/Shadowmoor signal. Adjustments will be made to the signal timing to improve traffic flow on all approaches of the intersection. Please be patient as we work to find the optimal timing that accommodates all vehicular and pedestrian movements.

Shadowmoor Drive is now a part of the intersection. When Shadowmoor gets a green please proceed through the entire intersection, you no longer need to stop at Talley!

Resized Talley Intersection

The S. Columbia/Talley/Shadowmoor signal is now fully operational. The all-way stop signs have been removed and traffic will be controlled by the signal; Shadowmoor Drive will be included in the signal operations of this intersection. This intersection serves as a Safe Route to School route for elementary students so please proceed with caution.
