Worthmore Jewelers is excited to announce “The Trail to Happiness”, their first juried exhibition in partnership with Atlanta Celebrates Photography. The exhibition will kick off with an Opening Reception on Saturday, October 3rd from 5 until 8 pm in the Decatur Store. You will have an opportunity to meet the artists and enjoy hors d’oeuvres as well as their signature rum punch. If you can’t get by for the opening, the show runs through November 6.

After stopping by Worthmore, head over to Sycamore Place Gallery, across from the Ice House Lofts. You may have heard about the infamous piano smashing at “Sylvia’s Atomic Cafe”. yard-sale-bwThe Decatur High School Band program is holding a massive yard sale this Saturday, 3 October from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. at Intown Ace Hardware on Scott Blvd. Don’t miss this opportunity to find some great deals AND help our talented world-traveling marching band raise some much needed funds for the band, drill team, and color guard! The DHS Band Booster Yard Sale will be held in conjunction with the Intown Ace Hardware Annual Yard Sale at 1404 Scott Blvd with their generous sponsorship.

Dogtoberfest

On Sunday, October 4th,  from 2 until 6 pm, it is time for Dogtoberfest at the Solarium in Oakhurst. The event is sponsored by local businesses to benefit improvements to the Oakhurst Dog Park. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted for food, beverages and Dogtoberfest activities.

Events will include:

> Mutt Strutt starting at the Taj Ma-Hound Bakery for Dogs and ending on the Solarium lawn.  Costumes are welcome with prizes for Scariest, Goofiest, Prettiest, Funniest, Best Group Costume and Most Original.
> Get your dog Microchipped by Animal Action Rescue.
> Adopt a new family member from a local rescue.
> Learn from the professional trainers at Frogs to Dogs. They’ll be taking your questions and introducing the Emergency Animal Transport Vehicle, the first of its kind in GA.
> Marketplace for cool new collars and leashes, delicious dog treats, doggie photography,  apparel and lots more.
