Decatur has signed on to be a part of the Lovable City conversation in October. The Lovable City conversation consists of Civic Dinners with residents, employees, and civic partners guiding conversations that get to the heart of what makes Decatur lovable.
We are looking for approximately 25-28 people to be part of the Host Committee. Host Committee members agree to host a civic dinner in their home, business or restaurant with six to ten guests.
The Lovable City conversation will serve as a kick off to our 2020 Strategic Planning process and will give us a chance to talk about what we love about Decatur as well as what we want to love about Decatur.
We are holding a Host Committee reception on Thursday, September 19 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. at the Pinewood, 254 W. Ponce de Leon Ave. Join us for a beverage and some appetizers so we can answer your questions and give you more information.
RSVP to Linda Harris, linda.harris@decaturga.com by Tuesday, September 17. If you know of someone else who might be interested in hosting a Civic Dinner in October, feel free to invite them.

Changes to Polling Locations
Posted in Community, tagged District 2, Election on August 29, 2019 | 2 Comments »
As of August, Renfroe Middle School (RMS) is no longer an election precinct for City of Decatur District 2 registered voters. For many District 2 voters, this change impacts where you will cast your ballot in the November General Election and beyond as the precinct boundary lines were redrawn.
By now, impacted registered voters should have received a postcard from DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections notifying you of your new voting location. It will be one of two places:
- Decatur Precinct – Evergreen Baptist Church, 303 Fourth Avenue
- Oakhurst Precinct – Oakhurst Baptist Church, 222 East Lake Drive
If you haven’t received the notification postcard or are still unsure of your election precinct, contact DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections at 404-298-4020 and voterreg@dekalbcountyga.gov or use the Georgia Secretary of State’s “My Voter Page” at https://www.mvp.sos.ga.gov/MVP/mvp.do to check out your information.
You may also view the locations of all city precincts and a list of Decatur specific elected officials on the City’s interactive Elected Officials map at http://decaturga.maps.arcgis.com/apps/InformationLookup/index.html?appid=f0a5a15c73c84d01989b5f08d99766e5.
