Google Fiber contractors are currently constructing on the south side of Decatur. The first phase includes installing an underground infrastructure which may cause some interruptions. They will then come back at a later date (soon to be announced) to implement the above ground infrastructure.
The contractors are in the process of obtaining the last of the permits required to complete the work in the city and will be moving through other areas of the city over the coming months. 
The City of Decatur has on-going coordination meetings to discuss public notification, detours, and making sure that the accurate construction process is being performed.
