Church Street Storm Drainage Improvements Update

Weather permitting, Reeves Contracting plans to start installing the new storm sewer on Church Street north of East Maple early this week. The new storm sewer will extend from East Maple north on Church Street towards East Trinity Place.
Businesses on Church Street between East Trinity Place and East Maple Street should notify patrons that once work begins this week, traffic will be limited to one-way in the southbound direction, so they will have to approach this area from East Trinity Place.
Due to the location of the new storm line, on-street parking on Church Street will be prohibited in the area of construction. A schematic plan illustrating temporary traffic changes can be downloaded here.
The photo shows Reeves’ construction team installing the new storm line across East Howard Avenue earlier last week. This line intercepts an old granite rubble and terra cotta storm sewer that crosses the CSX railroad and heads cross country under several properties on the east side of Church Street.
