The City of Decatur has issued a film permit to MGM Studios for a project titled “Barbershop 3″ this week.  The project will film at two locations in Decatur: on Ponce de Leon Court and at the chapel at Decatur First United Methodist Church.  Decatur police and private security will be present at both locations and we do not anticipate any road closures or traffic control needs. Filming is scheduled through Friday of this week.

Following the memorial, Kevin Dunbar will take the stage for the first Blue Sky concert of the spring. His sound is alternative/pop rock and can be compared to the sounds of John Mayer, Ray Lamontagne, The Blues Travelers, Dave Mathews Band, and Counting Crows.   Concerts are FREE to the public and begin at 12:00pm

Taking advantage of the good (aka non-rainy) weather, general contractor CMES installed a new storm drainage line on Mead Road across from Harmony Park. There has been steady progress with new curbing and sidewalks on the north side of the Mead Road extension. This will continue this week, with the work moving in a northerly direction on the west side of Oakview Road towards West Benson Street.
