FREE Workshop for City Schools of Decatur Families!

Eating Healthy – Fun for the Entire Family – Saturday, August 21, 1-3 p.m.

Funded by Kaiser Permanente through a grant received by the Decatur Education Foundation, the Oakhurst Community Garden Project is proud to announce its next FREE seminar reserved for CSD families.

Bring the whole family out to learn about the benefits of healthy eating!  Eating healthy doesn’t always have to be expensive.  Like anything else worthwhile in life, it takes a little planning, creativity, and work.  But if you think of the rewards—better health and more money—you’ll find it’s worth the effort.

On Saturday August 21, 1-3 pm, the Oakhurst Community Garden Project will be hosting a FREE Family Workshop for City Schools of Decatur families.  This three-part workshop will cover the basics of Healthy Snacks, How to Eat Healthy on a Budget, and Nutrition 101.  We are excited to offer this workshop in partnership with the Decatur Education Foundation, Les Dames D’Escoffier, and the Dekalb County Cooperative Extension.  We will share some tips to help your family eat healthy and still stay on budget.  We will close with a final roundtable where you will be able to sample the recipes you help prepare and discuss what you have learned.

Come with an open mind and take home some healthy, easy recipes!

Reserve your spot by contacting Myriam at ocgp@bellsouth.net, (404) 371-1920.  Remember, this event is open to all CSD families at no charge.
