Hey all!
I thought I’d share some of the really cool color combinations on historic buildings located in Decatur. Color is a great way to express yourself and the colors of historic buildings and houses in Decatur show that we really know how to express ourselves. Check out some of these great color combinations:

These colors are so sublime. Very orginal!

This is Art Deco and the pink color is just so great!

Okay, who doesn't love this building?!

This blue is so beautiful. It makes me think of the Bahamas.

How cute is this house?! I love the red awning and shutters.
Mix 1 part sunscreen with 1 part beach ball and 2 parts hot dogs. Add one pair of giant scissors, and what do you have? The Glenlake Pool ribbon cutting ceremony of course. The City of Decatur ordered up perfect weather for the re-opening ceremony this past Friday as City Commissioners Mary Alice Kemp and Kecia Cunningham cut the ribbon and welcomed the first guests into the newly renovated poolhouse. So began the never-ending debate over who was the first to jump in the pool. I heard more than a few children claim the title, but alas, the world may never know the truth. Check out the great pictures below.

The Ribbon Cutting for Decatur Fire Station Number 2 was held this morning at the new station located on West Hill Street. Members of the City Commission, employees, community members and others were on hand for the occasion. Commissioners Mary Alice Kemp and Jim Baskett did the honors of cutting the ribbon, and Mayor Floyd made a few comments to those gathered. Fire Chief Jerry Malone has waited 20 years for this new station and was visibly happy to see it complete before his retirement in July.

This Saturday’s Concert on the Square features singer, performer Tammy Allen and special guest Ryan Kilgore, saxaphonist for Stevie Wonder. The weather is going to be fabulous on Saturday night, so come on up to enjoy May’s last concert. Bring your picnic or stop in one of the many Decatur restaurants to get your dinner “to go”.
