The Bike/Ped Detour Map for E. Trinity Place and E. Howard Avenue

Bike Ped Detour Map

A new bike-ped detour starts tomorrow on E. Trinity Place near E. Howard.

In order to extend the streetscaping improvements along Trinity, the builders of the Arlo building http://www.centrodevelopment.com/arlo.html will require space to do their work at and around the existing crosswalk.

Starting on March 4th, a bike and ped detour will be set in place to travel around this area. The PATH Trail will remain open, however access from the trail across E. Trinity Place will not be possible. The detour will remain in place for three to four weeks.

The City has carefully considered the temporary closing and the detour. Please know that we understand the inconvenience that this will bring for some. The detour will ensure safety and provide for the construction of a much better sidewalk on the south side of E. Trinity Place.

Thank you for your consideration.

If you have any questions or comments, please call or write John Maximuk with the City of Decatur, Design, Environment & Construction Division, at 678.553.6570 or John.Maximuk@decaturga.com

Be sure your voice is heard – the deadline for Decatur community members to participate in a Survey on current and future transportation options is Monday, March 7. Please help the City plan for the future. An important component of a great community is the ability to easily get from one place to another, within and outside its boundaries. The Lifelong Community Advisory Board looks forward to your input to help make Decatur a place for a lifetime – for people of all ages, abilities and income. There has been a great response to this Survey. We want to make sure everyone has a chance to participate.
