Join First Baptist Church of Decatur for their first annual Recycle Your Life event.
WHEN: *Saturday, June 5th, 2010 9:00a.m – 2:00p.m.
WHERE: First Baptist Church of Decatur, parking lot.
308 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030
* If it rains, the event will still be held. In the case of severe weather, the event will be held on Sunday, June 6th from 1:00p.m.- 5:00p.m.
Q: What CAN I bring to this event?
A: All sorts of stuff! See flyer for complete details.
- FREE
- Electronic waste for recycling (Examples: cell phones, microwaves, computers, monitors, phones, copiers, keyboards/mice, cables)
- Electronic items in working condition for re-use
- Paper for shredding-first 20lb box of paper for free, additional boxes cost $5
- Clothing
- Furniture
- Tools
- Toys
- Rechargeable batteries
- WITH DISPOSAL FEE
- Televisions –$10
- Two or more boxes of paper for shredding- $5 for each box
Q: What CAN’T I bring to this event?
A: Here is the list of items that will not be taken:
- Items that Decatur or DeKalb County pick-up in normal curbside recycling (plastic, glass, metal, newspaper, cardboard, etc.)
- Alkaline Batteries
- Car Batteries
- Construction Debris
- Household Trash
- Motor Oil
- Tires
Q: Can I volunteer at this event?
A: Absolutely, and you get a free T-shirt!
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
Volunteers Shifts are 8:30am – 12:00pm AND 11:00am – 2:30pm.
Volunteer Responsibilities Include:
- Sorting recyclables
- Coordinating traffic
- Refreshment distribution
