Many of you might remember the article that came out in the New York Times magazine a couple of years ago about the The Fugees, the youth soccer team from Clarkston comprised exclusively of refugee children. New York Times reporter, and author of Outcasts United, Warren St. John lived at the Decatur Holiday Inn while writing the story. And The Fugees coach, Luma Mufleh, is a Decaturite who use to own the ice cream shop in the current Feast location.
For those you who aren’t familiar with The Fugees story, visit the Outcasts United site, or better yet, head over to the Carter Library on Wednesday, April 22 at 7 p.m. for the book signing with Warren St. John and Coach Luma.
Tickets to the event are $10 or free with a purchase of the book with A Cappella Books. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales and book sales with benefit the Fugees Family.
