bikers on paradeThe City of Decatur is gearing up for the annual 4th of July Celebration which includes a Pied Piper Parade, the Callanwolde Concert Band and fireworks at dark.

The Pied Piper Parade will begin at 6 pm, and line up for the participants is at 5:30 pm at the First Baptist Church on the corner of Clairemont Avenue and Commerce Drive. Anyone can participate in the parade, so decorate your bike, wagon or vehicle and join in! Vehicles must fill out the Vehicle Registration form found here. Walkers and bike riders do not need to register.

boy scoutsAfter watching the parade, head over to the Community Bandstand where Mayor Floyd will give the “official welcome” and Boy Scout Troop 175 will be presenting the colors. TheCallanwolde Concert Band will begin at 7 pm. Fireworks will be shot at dark from the top of the DeKalb County parking deck.

Streets around the Square will be closed to traffic after the Parade passes by, so head up to the Square early.
