E. Ponce Crosswalk Improvements

The City is installing an improved pedestrian crosswalk on E. Ponce de Leon near Starbucks. This new design should improve visibility of the crosswalk and help slow traffic. We want to test this new design in this location before we consider expanding it to other pedestrians crosswalk areas in the City. In an effort to limit disruption of businesses in the area, the installation will begin on Sunday evening November 9th around 7 p.m. and be completed before the start of rush hour traffic on Monday morning. A section of E. Ponce de Leon Avenue from East Court Square east to Church Street will be closed overnight to allow the installation to be completed in one evening. East Court Square will remain open to traffic but traffic exiting from East Court Square will only be allowed to turn left onto Ponce de Leon. Work will be completed and the closed section of E. Ponce de Leon reopened to traffic by early Monday morning.
