Budget Gathering at Kavarna

The City of Decatur is hosting another Community Budget Gathering on Tuesday, April 10th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kavarna, 707B East Lake Drive. Join Assistant City Manager Andrea Arnold and others interested in learning about the city’s budget process.

This is your chance to find out how the budget process works and give your input. This is the second of three meetings using this new format. The third meeting will be at City Hall in May. Click here to find the current 2011-2012 budget.

Come to Decatur's 1st Budget Gathering at the Brick Store

The City of Decatur is hosting a Community Budget Gathering on Wednesday, March 14 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the Brick Store Pub, 125 E. Court Square.  Join Assistant City Manager Andrea Arnold and others interested in learning about the city’s budget process.

The City’s Revised 2010-2011 and Proposed 2011-2012 Budgets have been presented to the City Commission and are available to the public for review. Check it out! FY 2011-2012 Budget Document Now Available

The 2010-2011 revised and the 2011-2012 proposed budget estimates are now available for review on the City’s website.  Hard copies are also available for review at the reference desk on the second floor of the Decatur Library, 215 Sycamore Street or at Decatur City Hall in the City Clerk’s Office, 509 N. McDonough Street.

A work session and a public hearing on the budget & 2011 millage rates will be held on Monday, 6 June 2011. A second public hearing and adoption of the budget & 2011 millage rates will be held on Monday, 20 June 2011. All meetings will be held at City Hall.

Budget Focus Group Meetings

Do you ever think about how your City tax dollars are spent?  How are decisions made to fund City services?  Where does the money come from to pay for these services?   If you’ve ever pondered these questions or any others about the City’s budget and finances, come be a part of the City’s Budget Focus Group for the 2011-2012 budget year.  You’ll have the opportunity to meet City budget staff, learn about the budgeting process and give your opinion on budget priorities.

All budget focus group meetings will be held at Decatur City Hall, 509 N. McDonough Street, at 7:00 p.m.  Meetings are scheduled for the following dates:

March 8th
April 12th
May 10th

It's Budget Time!

In case you haven’t heard, the Proposed FY 2010-2011 and Revised FY 2009-2010 budget estimates are available for review. The document is available in full or by chapter (in pdf) on the Budget page of the City’s website. Or if you would prefer to peruse a hard copy, binders are available for checkout at the Decatur Library or at City Hall in the City Clerk’s Office and the City Manager’s Office.
