In case you haven’t heard, there is a tiny event planned for this Saturday on the Square in downtown Decatur called the Decatur Craft Beer Festival. (we kid, tiny=4,000 people) The event sold out weeks ago but there is still fun to be had if you weren’t one of the lucky ones to get tickets. What kind of fun you ask? How about the 2nd annual Decatur Root Beer Festival hosted by Little Shop of Stories? Get more information from their blog here.

You can also participate in one of the many other Atlanta Beer Week events that Catherine talked about on the blog here yesterday.

Oct. 20
Yep, Atlanta Beer Week starts on a Saturday, not Sunday – just to keep you on your toes. And that Saturday just happens to be the same day as the 2012 Decatur Craft Beer Festival. For those of you who weren’t able to get tickets to the festival, you can head over to Ale Yeah! to purchase your ticket to the Decatur Passport Crawl. The crawl is on Monday, Oct. 22 and starts at the Brick Store Pub. You have all week to collect your passport stamps, but those who turn in their completed passport by Tuesday, Oct. 23 get a special prize pack.

Also at Ale Yeah! on Saturday, the shop will be holding an “Asheville vs. Atlanta” tap takover. They’ll have plenty of taps from both Asheville and Atlanta, so the customers can vote with their growlers!

One whole hour before the Beer Festival begins, The Square Pub is hosting the 2nd Annual Brewer’s Brunch open to the public at 11 a.m. Expect breakfast burritos, biscuits and green chili.

Here’s what’s happening the rest of the week:
