Robert Ellis
Monday, April 27
8:00pm / doors at 6:30pm

Robert Ellis is the kind of songwriter who only comes along once in a great while. With his first two albums, a promise was made. With his new record, The Lights from the Chemical Plant, that promise has been delivered and fully realized. The music, like the artist, refuses to accept the confines of a box, and burns white-hot from the inside out. But what seems even more striking about this record, this musician, even at a first glance, is that feeling of unyielding authenticity. With every remarkable cut, with every twist and turn, Robert’s life and his experience, shine through.

Advance general admission: $15      At the door: $20        Table of 4: $75

Touring musicians during the early Blues Bureau years included Sean “Cannon” Shannon, bassist Dave La Rue and bassist Kevin Rian. Pat punched out the tunes before adoring fans, in small clubs and stadiums with the same intensity he always had. Irregardless of the crowd size, Pat puts out the same effort night after grueling night.

Sharing the musical stylings of groups likes The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac, the members of ARS are accomplished musicians, constantly evolving.

Wanted: Your thoughts

All residents of the City of Decatur are invited to weigh in on the City Schools of Decatur‘s expanding enrollment demands. Go to www.decaturga.com/opencityhall and click on the topic “Decatur School Enrollment Growth” to answer a few questions. For those unable to complete the survey online, hard copies are available by calling 678-553-6561.

A bit more about the Open City Hall topic:

In order to gauge the opinion of residents of the City of Decatur, City Schools of Decatur (CSD) is using the city’s online tool, Open City Hall, and asking that you complete this short survey.

Currently CSD is experiencing unprecedented enrollment growth. The School Board and Superintendent have been studying enrollment projections for a number of years. Ten years ago, CSD’s enrollment was approximately 2,200. Today at 4,336 students, enrollment has surpassed the highest previous historic level. By 2020, using low growth estimates, enrollment is slated to be over 6,500. Additional information is available for review on the CSD website at www.csdecatur.net.

Once the streetscape improvements are completed on Church Street and East Trinity Place, the entire area will be repaved.

On-street parking will be prohibited when the work is being performed. Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the day but will be limited where work is taking place.

SIGNS WILL BE POSTED ALONG CHURCH STREET PROVIDING NOTICE OF THE WORK.  ALL VEHICLES MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE STREET DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS, 7 AM to 6 PM, WHEN WORK IS PERFORMED.  Vehicles parked on the street during the posted times are subject to towing.
