The community is invited to the final open house and workshop to help plan improvements to the railroad crossing at Atlanta Avenue. The design team of Landis-Evans & Partners and Atkins has evaluated the preliminary plans and comments provided by participants in the previous workshops and will have recommendations to make the rail crossing and intersection safer for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists.
City of Decatur staff, Landis-Evans & Partners and Atkins will be available to explain the recommendations, respond to comments and listen to your suggestions. The planning team is interested in hearing from you about the design details and landscape elements that will help make the plan attractive for residents, a better Safe Route to Schools, and a long-term asset for Decatur.
Plan to drop by the Atlanta Friends Meeting, 701 West Howard Avenue, anytime during the workshop to learn about the project and share your thoughts.
