Come out to Scott Park, 231 Sycamore Street-behind Decatur Recreation Center, on February 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the City of Decatur’s Arbor Day Celebration.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about trees, meet the City’s new Landscape Infrastructure Coordinator/Arborist Kay Evanovich, along with other area arborists, and help plant trees.
Residents will also be able to take home a free tree seedling. Additionally, the City is giving away 100 trees on a first come first served basis per household. There are 50 Catalpa trees and 50 Redbud available.
