The City of Decatur Fire Department is working with Decatur High School to prevent texting while driving. There is a crushed vehicle on display in front of the high school that is a result of an actual texting while driving incident.
From Fire Captain Violante: In the past two months the fire department has responded to a large increase in the numbers of pedestrians hit by distracted drivers. We hope this crushed vehicle encourages people to be safer while driving. The display will be present until Saturday, November 21st.
