While you are putting the final touches on your costumes, don’t forget to drop by Decatur Public Works with your old electronics. The Autumn Electronics Recycling Day will be held this Saturday, October 31st from 9am-1pm. Almost anything with an electrical cord can be recycled at the event for free, but there is a $10 charge for televisions. You can also bring paper materials for secure shredding and styrofoam too! Since we started these events in 2005, we’ve diverted more than 1 million pounds of electronics from landfills, and since we added paper shredding we’ve collected 50,000 pounds.
