On Saturday, May 2 from 5PM-10PM the open spaces and vacant buildings along 4 blocks of E Howard Ave (between Trinity Ave and the Ice House lofts) will be transformed into a FREE, all ages participatory dance experience: danceDanceDANCE! East Howard Avenue will be closed between North Candler Street and Hillyer Place. Parking is available at the Decatur Recreation Center at 231 Sycamore Street. See the attached flyer for a map.
At DDD! participants will be immersed in models of artist micro-housing, pop up stages, film projections and dancing in the streets. 310 East Howard Avenue will be transformed into a theater for live performance. Artist Retail booths, curated by Root City Market, will be set up in ColorWheel at the east end of the street.

This event is designed to launch a larger conversation around creating the Decatur EcoArts District. The goal of the district is to build inclusive communities by shaping neighborhood redevelopment so that it is environmentally sustainable with built in opportunities for creative expression. Traffic & Parking
The event will run from 5pm-10pm. East Howard will be closed to vehicular traffic between North Candler Street and Hillyer Place beginning at 3PM on Saturday. See the attached map for the location of street barricades. There will be police officers on hand to direct traffic. We are encouraging all attendees to park at the DeKalb County parking deck on West Trinity or the Recreation Center parking deck off of Sycamore Street.
