Healthy Brains, Healthy Emotions
Thursday, Aug. 21 • 6:30 p.m • Decatur Recreation Center • 231 Sycamore St.
Feeling sad, blue, blah? Losing interest in activities and pleasures in life is not a normal part of aging.Always feeling anxious or worried is also not a normal part. Living with chronic health conditions can affect the brain and one’s mood, emotions and memory. While growing older can certainly be challenging, learning how to take care of your brain and obtaining treatment when necessary can significantly improve your quality of life.
Lifelong Decatur’s Third Thursday series presents a discussion on this topic led by Eve Heemann Byrd, MSN, MPH, FNP-BC, executive director of the Fuqua Center for Late-Life Depression. This event is free and open to the community.
Can’t make it to the discussion? Fuqua Center for Late-Life Depression/Emory University’s Division of Geriatric Psychiatry provides a comprehensive continuum of geriatric “brain health” services for its patients.
