As you drive around downtown Decatur today, you may notice traffic cones, blocked meters, and signs on the light poles. Although we are in the throws of getting ready for tomorrow’s (sold out) Decatur Craft Beer Festival, all of this prep is actually for the Komen 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk that will come through downtown Decatur around lunchtime today. Traffic may get a little slow and there will be lots of extra people walking around but lets give everyone our warmest Decatur welcome- they are walking a long way for a very good cause!
And in case you are planning to come through downtown tomorrow, you should note that Ponce de Leon between Clairemont Avenue and Church Street will be closed as will N. McDonough Street and E. Court Square. The Decatur Craft Beer Festival is considered one of the best beer festivals in the country and raises more money in 5 hours than any other fundraising effort around town. Do you want to know where the proceeds are going this year? Take a look at this impressive list!
