In relationship to the Emerging Authors tent. this was a Hugh letdown. While there was a place to speak it was located in the tent on the ground not the “stage” they mentioned in the program. The speaker system was poor. There were hard metal folding chairs for the audience. Maybe enough for 20 people. The tables for the books were crowded into the tent back to back with no cross over lanes. I would have imagined that the speakers book would be brought to the front where one of the staff would sell them. Not so, if someone did want to obtain your book they had to search the tables to find it. Not many have that kind of patience. And they’d have to get to the author table before your time ran out While no one promised any special treatment it would have been nice if the AJC had a reporter for a brief interview and photo of the presenters for a follow-up story introducing the EMERGING AUTHORS to their readers. All in all from my perspective it was a waste of $180 and I would advise any new author to avoid it most especially if you might be thinking t hat their would be real exposure to help you on your way.
