How would you finish that sentence?
One of our goals for the annual report this year is to inject a bit of humor as well as share our successes. How often do you hear the phrase “only in Decatur…” followed by a crazy story? We invite you to share one of your “Only in Decatur” stories with us.
Think about these ideas to get you started –
- Only in Decatur would we have 3 dog parks in 4 square miles but our mascot is Pete the Cat
- Only in Decatur would we receive the Tastiest Town in the South award and the Most Fit City award in the same year
- Only in Decatur would the President of the United States make a visit to a building that had only been open for 4 days
- Only in Decatur would we get an award for bad “Burma shave” poetry signs and have a resident named Poet Laureate of the United States for her good poetry in the same year.
Now it’s your turn. Leave your “Only in Decatur…” stories in the comments section of this post.
We can’t wait to hear what everyone comes up with!
The Georgia Department of Education has released the list of schools that made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for 2008-2009. For the initial determination Renfroe is not being shown as making AYP. While the academic successes of Renfroe Middle School merit a status of meeting AYP, an error in reporting attendance rate to the state has delayed this announcement.
