Event organizers announced this week that the fifth annual Decatur Green Fest will be held Saturday, May 11 from 3-10 p.m in downtown Decatur and will feature a live musical performance by Ed Roland and the Sweet Tea Project. The Sweet Tea Project is led by Ed Roland, Atlanta native and front man of the platinum-selling rock band Collective Soul.
Terrapin Beer is the Presenting Sponsor of the event, which will be held in coordination with the Decatur Concerts on the Square series. All proceeds will benefit the Dogwood Alliance and the Decatur-based organization Poverty is Real.
The Decatur Green Fest draws more than 5,000 attendees to the Decatur Square each May for a free event featuring live music, dozens of vendors displaying a vast array of sustainable goods and services, local and organic food and drinks, an artists’ market, a kids zone, and more.
