This Friday and Saturday you have the opportunity to tour seven of Decatur’s most beautiful and unique homes on the 30th annual Holiday Candlelight Tour of Homes.
Catch the complimentary shuttle at the Courtyard by Marriott downtown Decatur and spend the evening touring homes all around the City. Hop on and off at your leisure, tour all seven homes in one night or spread it out over the two nights. Be sure to come inside the hotel and tour the newly renovated Marriott and enjoy a snack and beverage at the bar.
Proceeds from the Tour benefit four outstanding Decatur non-profit organizations: the Mary Miller Decatur Youth Fund, the Decatur Education Foundation, the DeKalb History Center and the Wylde Center.
Purchase tickets online here or at Seventeen Steps, Oakhurst Market, and Intown Ace Hardware.
We Decatur residents sure do appreciate you not providing any traffic planning or traffic control. Add using tour buses too wide to get down narrow streets clogged with cars people parked wherever they felt like and all that’s left is to take bets on which comes first: car accident, pedestrian run down or a fistfight fight over blocked streets. We’ve seen all 3 come close to happening in the last hour. Do you guys have to apply for a permit to do this, because I’ll definitely be at that meeting next year.
Thank you for your comments related to traffic and the tour. We always appreciate feedback and suggestions, especially when something is not working. I would love to get more details from you so that we can address this issue better next year. My email address is linda.harris@decaturga.com and I look forward to hearing details from you directly about this experience and your concern.
