As previously suggested in a comment to the Raging Burrito Post, I wanted to blog about Johnny’s Pizza, located at: 340 Church Street, (4) 373-8511, http://www.johnnyspizza.com/. Actually prior to the suggestion I had eaten @ Johnny’s many times and left very satisfied. They have a great lunch special where you can get two slices of pizza (1 topping per slice) plus a fountain drink for $4.99. Given the size of their slices, this is a very fulfilling deal. You may even have to get the to-go box for the other slice; it wouldn’t be the first time someone has had to do so.

On to my next post…Chinese
Posted in Uncategorized on September 24, 2009 | Leave a Comment »
The other day I finally made it into Jin Jin Chinese Cuisine for their lunch buffet. The buffet is all you can eat and only $4.95 not including the drink. This is one of the least expensive lunch buffets in the nearby area that I know of. It runs from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. They are located at: 614 Church Street, (4) 377-5777, www.jinjinga.com. The food was fresh and had a pretty standard selection of Chinese food. All in all a very filling meal, probably because I don’t know when to quit at a buffet. 🙂

DeKalb Rape Crisis Jewelry Sale
Posted in Uncategorized, tagged 30030, Decatur, DeKalb Rape Crisis Center, Jewelry Sale on September 17, 2009 | 2 Comments »
The DeKalb Rape Crisis Center will be having their “Jewelry Sale” on Monday, September 21 on the Bandstand on the Old Courthouse Square. The sale includes used jewelry, purses, and some other items. The majority of the items are gently used and a great bargain as most are under $2. Be sure to stop by to find that special piece of jewelry that you just can’t live without. My friends and I love this sale and often find real “treasures”. You will also be supporting a great cause in the community. The sale is from 9 am until 3 pm. Shop early for the best finds!
Blue Sky Concert Today!
Posted in Uncategorized, tagged 30030, Blue sky Concerts, City of Decatur, Decatur, Decatur Business Association on September 16, 2009 | 1 Comment »
The rain has cleared for enough time to have our Blue Sky Concert today at noon on the Bandstand on the Square. Ernie Quarles and Shaun Anderson will be playing R&B – great music for an overcast afternoon.
You may have heard Ernie and Shaun play at the Decatur Wine Festival. They have played at this event for all four years of the festival, and will play again this year.
Pack your lunch, or get one to go from one of our many restaurants.
See you on the Square!
