The Ribbon Cutting for Decatur Fire Station Number 2 was held this morning at the new station located on West Hill Street. Members of the City Commission, employees, community members and others were on hand for the occasion. Commissioners Mary Alice Kemp and Jim Baskett did the honors of cutting the ribbon, and Mayor Floyd made a few comments to those gathered. Fire Chief Jerry Malone has waited 20 years for this new station and was visibly happy to see it complete before his retirement in July.
