Both structures (i.e., manholes) on the east side of North McDonough Street have been set and the first “stick” of 54” pipe has been installed in the south line on East Maple Street. This area is a jumble of underground utilities – water and lines, gas lines, power, telecommunication facilities including phone and fiber optic lines. Several private storm drainage lines have been encountered as well. These will be connected to the new system.
This week, the contractor will continue efforts to clear North McDonough and begin the repaving process.
Traffic control measures will remain in place on North McDonough Street, so expect traffic delays.
