Free Mother’s Day Storytelling Event For All Ages
Families looking to celebrate Mother’s Day now have a new, free entertainment option: an afternoon of storytelling for all ages in Decatur’s historic square. From 3pm to 5pm, noted professional storytellers Ernestine Brown, Janice Butt, LaDoris Bias-Davis, and Tommy Tye will spin tales of adventure sure to delight both children and adult audience members.
The event is being co-hosted by Decatur’s preeminent league of professional storytellers, Southern Order of Storytellers, and local family-run outdoors company Sure Foot Adventures. President (and storyteller) Jonah McDonald says, “We wanted to provide families with an entertaining activity to make Mother’s Day special without parents having to spend a dime.”
