I do not understand the department of Public Works’ decision to leave garbage that has been sitting outside for four days uncollected for another five days. If you can resume garbage service, why not begin with customers who have waited the longest? And why not work the crews through the weekend to catch up? This makes me very angry.
Anne,
If you have an extreme situation with your garbage, I encourage you to go ahead and call the Sanitation Department and see what they can work out with you. Their number is 404-377-5571.
When we made the decision about the Monday & Tuesday routes, we did not know what would be happening with the Thursday & Friday routes and whether the trucks would be able to collect at all. Feel free to email me directly linda.harris@decaturga.com and we can discuss details.
Thanks for posting.
Linda Harris
The garbage is frozen! What is the big deal?
