We are so excited that Decatur is among the first around to install solar powered trash compactors! The compactors are being installed in front of Starbuck’s and Java Monkey as we speak. Jerry Knotts and his crew are working hard to get them going and I can’t wait to see them in action.
New and more visible recycling bins are being installed as well, but they won’t compact. Hopefully these additions will be a big hit and we will see them popping up around the city soon.
Well done, Decatur!
This is so great, and I’m really excited to try it! I hope it helps to make a more clear distinction between trash and recycling.
KEEP up the GOOD work SON.
Good job, GERRY!!
Hi Gerry,
That is a great idea! We hope it catches on, all over, to help the environment. I also hope solar power becomes more reasonably priced, for homes! Have a great week! Love and miss you!! Linda
Love these…. why do we not have more in the South. They are all over the place in the NE? I love the fact that they keep nasty trucks of the street as much. Good job Decatur!
