Decatur Green Fest is May 2nd! This year the Decatur Green Fest will be held in conjunction with the season’s first Concert on the Square. The festival will begin at 3 p.m. with live music, environmental information from various organizations and businesses, recycled artwork, organic food, tasty beverages, and more. Children’s activities include a rain barrel workshop with Russell Jackson. The music continues throughout the afternoon and evening.
Beth Hagberg, an active parent at Clairemont Elementary School, has been teaching the children about the environment and how they can help to save it. She worked with the children to paint four rain barrels which will be auctioned off at 6 pm at the festival. Mayor Bill Floyd will be the auctioneer.
